In the event that we decide to follow the tutorial, the first thing to do is to make a backup of the phone data. Then we can perform the steps indicated below:
- First, we must download both the Android 4.4 KitKat update and the Odin program from the link on the SamMobile website.
- Once both files have been downloaded, the Odin program must be extracted and then opened on the computer.
- Then we must put the phone in download mode. To do this, we will simultaneously press the power button, the volume down button and the start button.
- Now we will connect the phone through a USB cable to our computer (with the Odin program open), and we will see that after a few seconds a blue light will appear in the program.
- After making sure that the " re-partition " box is unchecked, we will copy the update files as indicated in the SamMobile link attached to the beginning of this tutorial.
- Finally we will click on the Start button and we will arm ourselves with patience until the phone has finished updating.
What if we encounter any technical difficulties when updating the phone ? In most cases, to restore your phone to its original state, simply follow the steps below:
- First we will have to press the start, lock and volume up buttons on the phone at the same time.
- Now we must select the option to perform a Factory Reset (that is, a factory reset).
- Carrying out this action we will lose all the data stored on our phone, but in principle we should be able to restore the mobile to its original state before the update.
