It had been rumored for a few weeks and it seems that it is finally made official. The Motorola P40 will be the first mobile of the brand to have a Samsung processor. To date, Meizu and Samsung itself were the only phone companies with Korean-brand processors. Now it is Motorola that joins the bandwagon of Exynos processors with a terminal aimed at the upper mid-range both in processing capacity and the amount of RAM and storage.
Motorola Moto P40: Exynos 9610 processor and Android One
A recent leak through the 91mobiles website has just confirmed most of the Motorola P40's features. The terminal will replace the Motorola P30 presented in China a few months ago, and its main asset will be the implementation of Android One as a base system.
As for the rest of the specifications, weeks ago there was talk about the implementation of a Qualcomm processor; specifically the Snapdragon 675. It seems that it will finally come with a Samsung processor; the Exynos 9610, a model in terms of performance and capacity very similar to Qualcomm's solution as it is manufactured in 10 nanometers.
Along with this, three different memory configurations: 3 and 32 GB, 4 and 64 GB and 4 and 128 GB of RAM and ROM. In addition, the Motorola phone will come with a dual camera on the rear of 48 and 5 megapixels. Both sensors could be the same as those of the recently introduced Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. As for the front camera, it will be immersed under the touch panel of the screen.
For the rest, the terminal will come with NFC connectivity, 3,500 mAh battery and two colors: Blue and Gold. No further information is known about its screen, charging technology or connectivity.
The Motorola P40 could arrive in Spain
Despite the fact that Motorola's P range has historically been limited to Asia and countries such as China or South Korea, the Motorola P40 could reach not only Spain, but also other countries in Europe and Latin America, just like its current range G. And is that to date, both the Motorola P30 and the P30 Note and previous generations have come with ZUI, Lenovo's proprietary customization layer.
The implementation of Android One as a base system makes us think that Motorola will expand this new model beyond the borders of the East. There is nothing confirmed at the moment, but it is not ruled out that the company will present the terminal in national territory in the coming weeks. We will keep up to date no matter what.
