2019 seemed like the definitive year for folding smartphones, and after the fiasco of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, it seems that it will not finally be like that. Meanwhile, brands like LG are weighing different designs to implement in their future flexible screen phones - we saw this a few weeks ago with the leak of a patent registered by the brand. Now the brand registers a new patent that, in addition to revealing the possible design of LG's folding mobile, reveals a more solid finish if we compare it with the original design.
This is what LG's foldable phone looks like in pictures
The launch of LG's flexible screen mobile is closer than ever. Good proof of this are the different patents that the manufacturer has registered since the beginning of the year. The last to arrive lets us see what is probably the final design of the device of the South Korean brand.
As we can see in the patent registered by LG, the phone would have a double fold that would allow switching between mobile phone and tablet, tablet that on the other hand would have a screen ratio of 16:10 to improve the display in productivity tasks. The integration of a stylus is another of the novelties that are presented with respect to the original patent. Although there is no indentation in the final design, it is likely that the body of the device in folded form houses a recess for storing the stylus .
Another point to highlight has to do with the implementation of an interaction button at the bottom of the frame, which would allow us to unlock the system through the integrated fingerprint sensor. The increase in size of the lower frame could be a reason to house the different cameras that would act as a rear camera and a front camera, since they are not seen in the original patent. And is that against all odds, it is most likely that the design of the phone will end up undergoing changes in the final product that differ greatly from the design of the patents.
Regarding the presentation of the phone, everything indicates that it will arrive from the second half of 2020, although at the moment there is no official information. We will have to stay aware of new leaks related to what is next from LG.
