It seems like Samsung is grabbing most of the tech news today. Minutes ago we told you that the company has launched, in collaboration with Microsoft, a new system that would allow you to play Xbox One games on Samsung mobiles. Prior to this news, it came to light that the same company is working on the Android 9 Pie update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Now the manufacturer presents, after several months of rumors and leaks, the Samsung W2019, the shell type mobile with high-end hardware aiming to break the market next year.
Dual display in a clamshell design
The design of the Samsung W2019 is, along with the hardware, the aspect that stands out the most of this terminal. As you can see in the images, the aforementioned mobile phone has the classic shell-type design that allows us to open and close the device as if it were a book.
But beyond its design, where the W2019 really shines is on its screen, or rather, screens. Specifically, we find two panels located on the inside and outside of the device with identical size, technology and resolution: 4.2 inches, Full HD resolution and AMOLED technology.
They also have Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and both can be used both with the mobile closed and with the mobile open. In fact, the system based on Android Oreo 8.1 under the Samsung Experience UI layer supports the full use of its functions both on the screen "inside" and the "outside".
Identical hardware to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9
If this Samsung W2019 stands out for something, beyond its design, it is because of its internal hardware. Although it may seem that it is a mobile oriented to the general public, the new launch of Samsung has the latest of the latest in mobile technology. In fact, its hardware is almost traced to the Galaxy Note 9.
In summary, we are on a Snapdragon 845 processor accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 128 and 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expandable via microSD cards. Regarding the battery, it has a module of nothing more and nothing less than 3,070 mAh, not bad for a mobile with such a screen size. From Samsung they assure that it has 85 hours of standby and 280 hours of active call. It will be necessary to see how it behaves with the use of the two screens.
Nor do the rest of the specifications fall short of its internal hardware. It has all kinds of wireless technology: 4G, NFC, Dual WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2. As if this were not enough, it has a headphone jack, something that is becoming less and less common.
Best Samsung Camera
Did you think that the photographic section was going to fall short? Nothing is further from reality. If the hardware is up to par with the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9, the cameras were not going to be less. So much so that we find the same camera configuration as in the Galaxy Note 9.
Double 12 megapixel camera and variable focal aperture from f / 1.5 to f / 2.4 and fixed from f / 2.4 and it is what we find on the back. Both sensors can record at 4K 60 FPS and 960 FPS slow motion. Unfortunately, the front does not have a camera (at least Samsung has not confirmed).
Price and availability in Spain
As is often the case with this type of device, its arrival on the European market is a mystery at the time of departure. Samsung has not confirmed that it reaches other markets beyond the Chinese, but it can not be ruled out that it ends up expanding internationally.
Regarding the price, the company confirms that it will be worth more than 10,000 yuan. In European currency this translates to more than 1200 euros. It remains to be seen if it reaches this same price in Spain, if it ends up arriving.
