Although Samsung has a wide catalog of mid-range mobiles (Galaxy A), it does not forget the cheapest range, the Galaxy J. The South Korean company has decided to update the Galaxy J2 Core, the cheapest mobile in its catalog. The new version of 2020 keeps the same design, screen size and battery, but now has more storage. We review all the benefits.
This terminal has a somewhat outdated design compared to other low-end mobiles. We still have quite pronounced frames in the upper and lower area, as well as a 5-inch LCD screen. The rear does not change design either. Of course, the polycarbonate is kept and a single main camera in the center, accompanied by an LED flash. On the back there is also the Samsung logo and the main speaker. The casing is removable. Inside is the battery, which is also interchangeable. As well as the slot for the SIM or micro SD tray.
The terminal maintains the Exynos 7570 processor that we saw in the original Galaxy J2 Core, in this case accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. In the photographic section we find an 8 megapixel main camera, as well as a 5 Mpx front one. The battery is 2,600 mAh. According to the manufacturer, it lasts for 14 hours when browsing the internet.
More storage in the new version of the J2 Core
What changes is the internal memory. The 2018 model had 8GB of storage. In this case they are expanded up to 16 GB, which leaves us with an available internal storage of 11.7 G B, since the rest is occupied by the system. Of course, with the possibility of expanding by micro SD up to 256 GB. And speaking of the system, it has Android Go in version 8.0 (Oreo). This edition of the operating system takes up less memory, and optimizes apps for proper performance. One of the most interesting features of Android Go is that we can move the main applications to the SD memory. Therefore, we can easily expand the storage.
The 2020 Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has been launched in India. It comes at a price of 300 rupees, about 76 euros to change. The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is sold in Spain, but at the moment we do not know if Samsung will update to the new version, since the only feature that changes is the internal storage.
