The Samsung Galaxy Fold will be announced again very soon. That's what we've been hearing for weeks, but there is still no official news about its release. Samsung's first folding device had a number of issues with the display and folding mechanism, and the company had to withdraw it from the market, investigate the bug, and fix it. The latest reports ensure that the Galaxy Fold is already redesigned.
Bloomberg has been able to access those reports, where they confirm that the Galaxy Fold has been redesigned to avoid new problems with its flexible screen. We go back a few months. The major American media outlets have problems with their units. A few days later it is discovered that these problems have been caused by the removal of a protective film from the screen. The problem is that this film was confused with the classic screen protector on the terminal, but apparently it was what made the Fold not have damage to the panel.
Changes to the Samsung Galaxy Fold
What Samsung has done is to extend this protective sheet to the edges, so that it is much more complicated (practically impossible) to extract it. Another informant change is in the hinge. It has been changed and is now flush with the panel. Again, to avoid damage to the screen and that small objects cannot enter that could break the flexible screen when bending it.
Samsung will start mass producing the new Galaxy Fold variants soon. The company is already shipping the components to its factories in Vietnam. However, a release date is still being discussed. It seems that they do not want it to match the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, which will be announced on August 7. Maybe Samsung will announce the release a few weeks earlier. Just a few hours ago, Dj Koh, CEO of Samsung, said that they were in no rush to launch it again.
