Samsung wants to sell more than 50 million mobile phones between android and bada in 2011
Manufacturers begin to present their forecasts and sales targets for 2011. We already know where the shots of the Taiwanese HTC will go, which seems to focus part of its efforts on concentrating the attention of the 4G market. In the case of the Korean Samsung (which is currently the second company in the sale of mobile phones worldwide, only surpassed by Nokia, and at a very considerable distance from its competitors), the 2011 project involves strengthening its presence on the ground of smart phones (smartphones).
According to Unwired View, the president of the Korean multinational, Shin Jong-kyun, would have ensured that Samsung's strategy involves marketing a total of 50 million smartphones equipped indistinctly with Android or Bada. With this, the company intends to give a boost to the market share that its own platform can absorb, which only during the first half of the year has a total of 10 million devices sold (currently, there are seven models based on Samsung Bada, all from the Samsung Wave line).
According to some analysts, the figure is feasible, given the growing market for the smartphone segment. In fact, remember, only the Samsung Galaxy S, the company managed to sell more than ten million units in seven months. And the Samsung Star, which began its commercial journey in 2009, has managed to break the 30 million device barrier .
Another point that is interesting to analyze in Samsung's statements is not in the above, but in the absence. The plan to reach 50 million terminals sold in 2011 has not included Windows Phone 7.
A few weeks ago, we told you that from one of the delegations that the company has in Southeast Asia they echoed Samsung's plans to dedicate a good part of its production of devices to the Microsoft operating system, even equating a more or less balanced the mobile portfolio with Windows Phone 7 and Android. However, it seems that this line, for now and if it is official, will not be disclosed.
