The patent war between Samsung and Apple is still in the news. And it is that after the lawsuit filed by Apple against Samsung with its family of mobile phones, players and tablets in Europe and the beginning of Samsung trying to veto the launch of the iPhone 5 in its native country (Korea), the Asian manufacturer has returned to address to court and has filed a lawsuit against Apple and try to stop the sales of iPhone and iPad phones and tablets.
Apparently, Samsung has stated that Apple is using patents registered by them that are related to 3G technology that are being used in both iPhones and iPads. These patents can be used in any device on the market as long as the manufacturer that uses them in their equipment pays the corresponding fee to Samsung; Apple has not done so and the Korean manufacturer informs it in its claim.
The war between the two companies is raging. And is that Samsung, for the moment has banned the sale of its Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany. What's more, during the IFA 2011 technology fair, Samsung had to remove its new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet from the counter because of said demand.
In addition, such is the bad relationship between the two companies that, apparently, the contract they had in common for Samsung to supply components for Apple equipment has been canceled. These components include touchscreens as well as the Apple A4 and Apple A5 processors used by the current iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
Finally, the Netherlands is not the only place where Samsung has acted against Apple. And is that Samsung, according to the newspaper Les Echos, has also filed a claim in the High Court of Paris for the same reason: infringing three patents registered by Asians that refer to wireless connections. Therefore, the sale of all iPhone models and the 3G version of the iPad 2 are in serious jeopardy in both territories.
