Tizen or Bada? In recent weeks there had been talk of the possibility that Samsung opted to merge the Bada OS platform with the new Tizen, developed based on Linux and with the support of other firms such as Intel. However, as we know through SamMobile, the South Korean firm would have announced news in this regard during the past IFA 2012.
According to the aforementioned media, one of the vice presidents of the company, Kang-Hyun Kwon, would have referred to the future of Bada, pointing out that next year we would attend the launch of new terminals equipped with Samsung's native operating system that will be debuted in 2010 with the first Samsung Wave. The idea, said the person in charge of the statement, would be that during the first half of 2013 the new mobiles that would make up the next generation of devices with Bada will be made known.
He also added that Samsung continues to develop support for Bada, although the reality is that the firmwares of the terminals that work with the most advanced version of the system "" 2.0, to be specific "" have not been updated for a long time. In fact, there was no data on the attention that Samsung would be devoting to this platform, something that gave weight to the idea that the development of Bada would have been integrated with that of Tizen.
In spite of everything, it seems that in that case those of Seoul would prepare a year 2013 attacking four bands with Android, Windows Phone, Bada and Tizen. With this, the presence of the South Korean firm at the next Mobile World Congress in Barcelona would be one of the largest of all those attending the mobile fair that takes place each year during the equator of the first quarter of each year.
The Samsung Bada platform emerged in the plans of the South Korean firm due to the desire to create an exclusive environment for a new line of work in the company's portfolio. The appearance of this system is very similar to that of home terminals with an Android system, thanks to the presence of the TouchWiz custom layer. Shop for applications for Bada, however, is also present in the phones it sells Samsung with Google environment: Samsung Apps. However, through Bada, those in Seoul have greater control of content traffic.
Ad Kang Hyun-Kwon may be linked precisely to the fusion Tizen without referring directly to the new condition of the native system. In recent months, we have actually witnessed the leak of various work models with which the firm would be testing the operation of the platform. Despite everything, it is still too early to be able to refine this situation with greater precision. In any case, this does not remove the fact that Samsung continues to bet mainly on Android as the preferred platform, with which it is achieving notable results.
