If you thought that you had seen everything in the telephony sector, especially after the emergence of folding mobile phones, you had not imagined what Samsung could be working on. The South Korean manufacturer has obtained a new patent for a smartphone design with three screens stacked on top of each other. The patent was filed by the company in August of last year and granted last March.
Thanks to the renders made by Letsgodigital we can see three parts, each with a screen, with a metal rod that holds the three parts together. Based on the patent images, it appears that the user could scroll from left to right through the parts independently. The design is truly innovative and is quite stylish despite being a triple panel. Also, there are no visible buttons or camera sensors on the terminal other than the home button on the main panel. The back of the device is also completely smooth. In any case, the frames are quite remarkable, something that is a far cry from current phone designs.
And why would we want a mobile with three screens? We imagine that the idea is to be able to interact with each one of them independently, in a way as if we had three different devices. However, nothing is clear yet and we do not know if this patent would continue its course and the manufacturer would eventually launch this creation. Much closer is, however, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the company's first folding mobile. Samsung would have already fixed the problems that led to its delay and could see the light of day next September. This was recently confirmed by DJ Koh, CEO and President of the company's IT & Mobile division.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold will not be a mobile within reach of all pockets. Its price is expected to exceed 1,500 euros. The time will have to be seen what it costs with operators and if we can finally get it something cheaper.
