We have not yet received official information about the Samsung Galaxy S5 and rumors have already appeared about an alternative version of this phone from the South Korean company Samsung. It seems that along with the conventional version of this mobile we will also receive a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. It would be a version with the same technical specifications but with a small significant change: this edition would be resistant to water and dust.
That is, while on the one hand we would have the possibility of buying the normal version of the Galaxy S5, on the other hand Samsung would also offer us the option of buying an “ Active ” version resistant to water and dust (and something more expensive, of course). It would not be the first time that this company introduces an off-road version of some of its most popular phones on the market. Without going any further, the Samsung Galaxy S4 itself has already received a Galaxy S4 Active edition that was precisely resistant to both water and dust.
This feature is very beneficial for users who are going to use their phone in places where there is a risk of the mobile being splashed with water or buried in the sand. Today's conventional mobile cannot come into contact with water or dust since in the vast majority of cases its internal components are damaged passing to a better life. Active editions often incorporate the same internal components (processor, internal storage, camera, etc.) as the original versions of the phone on which they are based. The only visible difference lies in their design, since they are generally somewhat more robust phones in which the case is usually protected by a cover incorporated into the mobile itself.
If we look at other competitive manufacturers, the characteristic of resistance to water and dust is something more and more demanded among users. Self Sony Xperia Z is resistant to both water and dust, and as we can see in its design, is a normal phone and no current many differences compared to other mobile competition. That is precisely what is expected of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, since nowadays these off-road mobiles are also claimed by ordinary users who simply want to be more calm when using their phone knowing that nothing will happen to them if they falls into water or sand.
Taking into account that it has recently been known that Samsung could present the Samsung Galaxy S5 at the end of February, it is also likely that the South Korean company will take advantage of this event to present the edition of the Galaxy S5 resistant to water and dust.
