The South Korean company Samsung has starred in a new leak through which two photographs of a patent that could correspond to a new model of smartphone from this manufacturer have been revealed. Far from being a conventional terminal, apparently we would be facing a mobile without borders on the sides of the screen that would also incorporate the technology of the three-sided screen. This means that the main screen would also expand to the sides of the mobile, so the user would have the possibility of accessing certain applications directly from one of the two sides of the terminal.
Although the patent has just come to light thanks to a leak from a Korean medium called ZDNet Korea, the truth is that the first rumors related to a Samsung mobile with a three-sided screen date back to the end of last year. At that time, a leak had already appeared that confirmed the existence of Samsung YOUM technology, a technology through which the South Korean manufacturer managed to incorporate a screen with three faces into a mobile phone. The patent that has appeared on this occasion reveals a similar technology with the difference that the screen completely replaces the sides of the mobile, even reaching the back cover of the terminal.
For now there is no more information in relation to this patent, although some media have ventured to ensure that this new Samsung smartphone could be completely flexible, something that also began to speculate at the end of last year 2013.
Although the exact mobile model to which this patent corresponds is unknown, what we can assure practically with total security is that we are not facing the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Both mobiles have already appeared in numerous leaks and none of them could make us think that their designs would be similar to what we have been able to know in this patent. In addition, this same patent has been accompanied by a rumor that Samsung is currently beginning the production of this mobile with a three-sided screen, which makes it practically impossible for said production to arrive in time for the official presentation of any of the two previous mobiles.
Recall that the next news from Samsung will be left to see in the IFA 2014, a technology event held in the city of Berlin between days 5 and 10 September. The Samsung event is expected to take place on September 3, and most likely this is the official presentation date of both the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
