Today the day is about folding mobiles. A few minutes ago, the first rumors about a possible Galaxy Fold with a 13-inch screen came to light. Later, the company gave an official statement to all the Spanish media announcing the delay in the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold due to problems related to the screen. Now it is news a new folding phone from the same company whose design reveals lines very similar to those of the Huawei Mate X, with a single folding screen on both sides of the body.
A single flexible screen and three different positions: this will be the new Samsung Galaxy Fold
Several patents for a supposed Samsung phone with a flexible screen have been filed in the last few hours. Lets Go Digital, the medium that has released the news, has published several images of what is supposed to be the second generation of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
As we can see in the photographs published by the aforementioned medium, the terminal would bear a certain resemblance to the Huawei Mate X by having a single panel and up to three different positions. The difference with respect to the latter is that the mechanism integrated into the screen would allow the panel to be folded down in such a way that we could turn the device into a smaller tablet and even a phone with somewhat more contained dimensions, possibly 6 inches compared to the ones. 8 on the smaller tablet and 13 on the unfolded phone.
And it is that although the size of the two folding formats is not specified in the original patent, it is expected that Samsung integrates two different sizes to make use of the terminal as a traditional smartphone and as a tablet smaller than that of the deployed device. It will be necessary to see how Samsung compensates for the difference in size of the two panels to keep the symmetry when taking the terminal in hand, like Huawei with the Mate X.
As we usually warn in these cases, since it is a patent of a test model, it is likely that it will not see the light as a final product. What we can assure you is that the company is working on a multitude of alternative designs to the Samsung Galaxy Fold to present in the not too distant future, although everything indicates that it will not be until 2020 when we begin to see this type of design on a phone. conventional.
