The release of Android 10 is just around the corner, and the different manufacturers are already beginning to prepare their respective layers of customization to adapt the latest version of Android as quickly as possible. In the wake of Huawei and Honor with EMUI 10, it is followed by Samsung, who just a few hours ago began to distribute the first beta versions of Samsung One UI 2.0, the new version of the customization layer that works under Android 10 Q. Unfortunately, the trial version is only limited to the Samsung Galaxy S10 + until further notice.
Samsung One UI 2.0: redesigned gestures, new navigation bar and more
If Android 10 is characterized by something, it is by focusing all its novelties on restructuring the form of interaction with the system, in addition to the security of the applications and their performance. Samsung One UI focuses part of its novelties on it and introduces several related to the appearance and functionalities of the system.
As we can see in the video published by youtuber Dudu Rocha, the main novelty of Samsung One UI 2.0 compared to One UI 1.5 has to do with the navigation bar launched by Google with Android Q. Now the layer has the same gestures than the Stock version of Android, with a bar located at the bottom of the screen with which we can interact through gestures: back, switch between applications, start… In case of opting for a traditional interaction method, the manufacturer offers the possibility of using the classic on-screen buttons and native Samsung gestures.
Another novelty in One UI 2.0 has to do with the redesign of its notification panel. On this occasion Samsung has decided to reduce the size of the clock and the date to further optimize space. It is also worth mentioning the new gestures that are introduced on the lock screen, in such a way that we can activate certain applications depending on where we press the finger.
For the rest, Samsung One UI 2.0 will integrate all the new features introduced by Google in the Stock version: restructuring of application permissions, greater control of background applications, management of improved location permissions… Since we are facing A version in tests, it is not ruled out that Samsung will be adding to the list of news that will arrive with the new version, whose release date is still unknown.
