Since it introduced the Samsung Galaxy Tab last year, a question has hammered the Korean manufacturer: when will a tablet with an AMOLED screen come ? In recent months, the Asian company has been putting out fires before the issue without specifying specific dates, although at the end of last year it was even suggested that in mid-2011 we could see the first Galaxy Tab with panels based on this efficient panel technology.
However, it seems that Samsung is finally ruling out the launch of personal screens with the technology that it has been installing in its high-end smartphones that we have been seeing from the Samsung Wave. However, as we know through the DelighIT site, Samsung has no plans for a tablet that incorporates an AMOLED screen, at least for this year 2011.
At the moment, only Samsung manufactures AMOLED panels (and their Super AMOLED and Super AMOLED Plus variables), based on OLED technology, which have been recognized as one of the most efficient systems when it comes to showing excellent results in terms of brightness and contrast., while not cannibalizing the autonomy of the terminal battery.
Given that precisely the screen of a tablet, due to its size and light requirements, is precisely one of the devices that most needs to make its operation profitable, the announcement by Samsung of the imminent launch of devices with AMOLED panels would have been great news for face to get positioned in the disputed aspect of autonomy (one of the points where precisely the iPad of Apple has managed to surprise with its ten hours of endurance in use).
