Folding mobiles are on everyone's lips. It seems that 2019 will be a very important year for these types of devices, although possibly only to show what they are capable of. Although we do not think that they will be launched "en masse", we are beginning to see some proposals. One of the manufacturers that has been behind a folding mobile for the longest time is Samsung. Everyone knows that the Korean manufacturer is working on this device, but now it has made it even clearer in an official company video.
Although it keeps it under an absolute secret, the truth is that Samsung itself has already given some information about its folding mobile. At its annual developer conference the company showed, very lightly, the device. However, it did so using a protective casing that did not reveal its design. Now what seems to be the presentation video of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked of next February 20 has been leaked. In reality it was not a leak, it was published by Samsung Vietnam on its YouTube channel, although we do not know if it was consciously or by mistake.
It's a video showing different devices for the future. We can see from smart windows and mirrors, to a tattoo robot that works remotely. But the most striking thing about the video is that Samsung seems to slightly show its folding mobile.
It is barely seen for 2-3 seconds, but long enough to discover its design. Apparently it has an outer screen and a double inner screen. Samsung's idea, at least that is what it indicates, lets you see what appears in the video, is to use it as if we were holding a book.
Technical characteristics of the Samsung folding mobile
We don't know much about Samsung's folding phone. But, although the company keeps it an absolute secret, it has shared some technical characteristics of it. On the one hand, we know that the screen on the outside will have a resolution of 840 x 1,960 pixels. It will be a "normal" size screen, with a width of 320dp.
The interior screen, or main screen, will have a resolution of 1,536 × 2,152 pixels. It will be an enlarged screen, with a width of 585dp. At the moment it is all we know about Samsung's folding mobile.
