Samsung announced last month at the One UI developer conference, the new customization layer that will arrive under Android 9 Pie, which is currently the latest version of Android. One UI comes with a much more minimalist design, new themes and settings. At the moment, it is only available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 in beta, but the company's next terminals will also arrive with this interface. Samsung wanted to show it on video and we tell you all the details.
The main novelty of One UI is its design. Samsung shows throughout the video the change of the interface elements and how they go from having a rectangular shape with corners to round icons and curved corners, much more minimalist and beautiful. also adapted to the curvature of the screen that your devices have. We can see how the icons also change their design, and not just with a new shape. Colors and patterns also change.
Within the applications we find more news. Again, a redesign in the elements and buttons. In addition, the company has decreased the options with controls that are easier to use and find in each application. Another interesting detail is that the settings are now separated into two options. On the one hand, we have the controls, which are located in the lower area. On the other, the information that we will read. In this way, we will only have to interact with the lower part of the terminal.
One UI with dark mode
In the last minutes of the video the protagonist is the dark mode. Samsung will add an option to change the tones to darker in order to provide a different appearance, and above all, greater autonomy. Most Samsung phones have an AMOLED screen. This makes black pixels dull, therefore saving autonomy.
The first mobiles to receive One UI with Android Pie will be the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 / S9 + during the month of January. Later it will reach other devices of the company.
