Samsung leads the sale of mobile phones with twice the number of units of Apple or Huawei
Table of contents:
Despite the fact that Asian phone companies are very tough rivals, Samsung is still ahead of them. This is demonstrated by the latest data provided by the Strategy Analytics consultancy, which has reported the commercial results of the second quarter of 2017. Samsung continues to lead sales in telephony with 79.5 million devices sent to services so far this year. It is a figure that has been increasing when compared to the previous year, when the South Korean distributed 77.6 million units.
In this same period, the Californian Apple has sold 41 million iPhones. This is a figure that, like Samsung's, is growing, since in the second quarter of 2016 it sold 40 million devices. Huawei leads the third position with 38.4 million mobile phones delivered. Your sales have experienced a major jump. And it is that the Asian firm delivered during the months of April, May and June of last year 32 million terminals.
Chinese rivals are growing very fast
The truth is that Samsung and company can not be confused. It is true that the South Korean is the undisputed queen of current mobile telephony, but her Asian rivals continue to stomp. If you look at the table above, the growth in sales of brands like Oppo or Xiaomi is quite fast. The first, for example, has gone from selling 18 million units in 2016 to selling 29.5 so far this year. The same happens with Xiaomi. The company distributed 14.7 million phones last year and this year it has delivered 23.2 million.
Right now Samsung has high hopes for its next high-end device, the Galaxy Note 8. This team will be announced on August 23 in New York and aims to be one of the hopes of the firm for next year's results. From what we know, it would have a huge 6.3-inch screen, Exynos or Qualcomm processor and a double main camera. Its design would be really spectacular, with almost no presence of frames and no physical start button. We really want to meet you and see if the rumors are correct. Less is missing.
