Users who have a Samsung Galaxy S3 have an update in the queue. It is a small package of improvements that is intended for the firmware of the high-end terminal of the South Korean firm. In this case, the update contains a patch with which the problems that have been manifesting in some units of this terminal are solved.
As we already told on another occasion, Samsung admitted that a series of devices that install versions of the latest processor in the house, the Exynos 4 Quad, suffered from a failure that forced a restart of the computer, even causing a forced shutdown. In other cases, the Samsung Galaxy S3 could show slowdowns in the processes. And they even opened a gap in security, allowing third parties to access the remote control of the phone's memory through malicious applications.
This situation, however, is mitigated with the update that is already available in our country. Terminals without carrier anchor, as usual, are the first to get the upgrade package. It is a very small file (21.38 MB) that can be downloaded via OTA or from Kies. In other words, we could access the settings panel and from there to the system and updates section to check if we already have permission to get the update. If once there it indicates that the requests are being granted in order, it is best to go directly to the desktop application, Kies.
With Kies, we just need to connect the phone to the computer via USB and the system will indicate that there is an update available. It is recommended that before starting the process, we take a few minutes to make a useful backup of the content hosted on the Samsung Galaxy S3 so that in case of any problem during the task we can start again without registering annoying losses. Once we start the update, in just a few minutes, and after restarting the equipment, we will have the system improvements integrated into the phone.
It is important to note that this is not an Android update. Once we finish the process, we will verify that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still located on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean "" in case we have the latest version of the platform available "", so there will be no news related to functions or applications that add to what we already know in this powerful touch mobile.
At the time we already echoed the recognition by Samsung of the problems that were occurring in various units of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The most flagrant situation occurred in those terminals that would have installed applications outside the channels recommended by Samsung and Google. In those cases, there had been the unpleasant circumstance of malicious utilities that had taken advantage of a security hole in the mobile processor to access the physical memory of the phone and control its data remotely. That, however, would be solved after the update.
