Samsung Galaxy S9
Yesterday we announced in Tuexperto that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was starting to receive the September security patch update and just today it is known that this same update is reaching its younger brothers, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +. The news has jumped just a few minutes ago, when the first users began to receive the aforementioned update to their mobile phones. This update is reaching most of the countries in Europe, including, how could it be otherwise, Spain.
September security patch officially arrives on Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9
It seems that this year Samsung is rushing with updates to its devices. Although there are still a few months to go before we can see Android 9 Pie in both the Galaxy S9 and Note 9, the company is meeting deadlines when it comes to security updates.
As we were anticipating at the beginning of the article, this update contains the security patch for September, the last one published by Google. The information comes to us directly from the well-known American technology website The Android Soul. Specifically, it is the version N960FXXS2ARH6, G960FXXS2BRI1 and G965FXXS2BRI1 corresponding to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus respectively. To update, we recommend you go to the System Updates section within the Settings application. Once inside, you must click on Check for updates. Then, the aforementioned security update should appear. If not, it is most likely that it will end up appearing throughout this week, as the firmware is arriving via OTA to a good number of devices sold and distributed in Europe, Spain included.
Regarding the changes of this new update, the only known is the change of date of the security patch. At the moment no more changes are known, although a correction of errors and bugs is not ruled out. Neither applications nor new features are included, only the patch published by Google is updated, as we just mentioned. These changes are expected for Android 9 Pie and Samsung Experience 10, the new version of Samsung's customization layer that is expected to come out in a few months, just before the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S10. For now we will have to settle for security updates.
