Yesterday we talked about the new edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Korean firm's touch tablet that will appear for the second time in 2011 with a Super AMOLED screen. We know that it will do so with a seven-inch screen, following the pattern of the tablet that has just arrived in Spain. The same one that has been around the world and that has already become the strongest rival to Apple's iPad. The fact is that the FPD International fair in Japan has been the scene of a new 10.1-inch LCD screen signed by Samsung. Will it be the new and gigantic tablet of the Korean?
For now, everything is hearsay. Samsung has baptized this fine screen as e-Reader, although at the moment the intentions of the firm to release a device of these characteristics are unknown. In any case, we have to say that the new LCD screen has 10.1 inches and 1,024 x 600 pixels of resolution, in addition to 250 nits of brightness. In this sense, we can already assume that if this screen has to be part of a new tablet, Samsung will continue not to include its Super AMOLED technology in its releases. But it is still too early to say anything about it.
The truth is that to date, Samsung has wanted to label this screen as if it were the prototype of a new electronic book reader. The fact is that the image itself reveals that the device can make video calls, an unusual functionality in this type of device. For now, we have no choice but to wait for the Korean to present the new edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab that we already know, crossing our fingers to incorporate the prized Super AMOLED technology. Later, we will see if Samsung decides to launch at ten inches.
