The Samsung Galaxy Tab that was unveiled a year ago around this time was postulated as the first real alternative to the iPad, although the road ahead was long and hard. Much of the interest it aroused at the time was based on the format it was betting on, reducing the screen to seven inches which, among other things, made the proposal more portable.
Seeking to reissue that proposal with the innovations applied in its new generation of tablets, the Korean multinational has presented the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus by surprise . This device fuses many of the features of the original Samsung Galaxy Tab with details integrated in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
For starters, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has a seven-inch screen with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. That is, it repeats in terms of performance compared to the founding model (without expanding the resolution as in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or integrating an AMOLED panel as in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7).
What it does have is a renewed design, lighter (345 grams) and thinner (only 9.96 millimeters thick). It also adds a more powerful processor to its performance profile, with a speed of 1.2 GHz supplied by its dual-core heart.
Paragraph multimedia is shared between a player none, compatible with the most advanced support for viewing files and video in FullHD, and a set of cameras and two 3.2 megapixel. By the way, the main sensor allows us to capture video in HD 720p quality.
The operating system chosen for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has been Android 3.2 Honeycomb. This version has not officially reached the first generation Samsung Galaxy Tab, so now we will have the opportunity to have the latest Google platform in seven-inch format.
Another point that much interest is the autonomy. And it is that despite its thinness, and that the battery of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is not particularly powerful (4,000 milliamps), the terminal can withstand up to ten hours in intensive use, which is marked a direct blow to its main competitor: Apple's iPad 2.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will be available from the end of the month, although it is unknown what price it will reach for the available models with 16 and 32 GB of internal memory. What is clear is that both editions will have 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
