Sales of LG terminals do not work. The latest numbers that the Korean company has published have not been anything good: all the smartphones that make up the LG Optimus L range have sold only a third of what a single Samsung terminal, the Samsung Galaxy S3, has achieved.
The LG Optimus L family is made up of four advanced Android-based mobiles from Google. These are: LG Optimus L3, LG Optimus L5, LG Optimus L7 and the most recent ”” and most powerful of all ””, the LG Optimus L9. However, sales have not accompanied the range of the Korean firm: it has managed to sell, worldwide, 10 million units; a figure that includes all models.
If these results are compared with those obtained by Samsung with a single terminal (Samsung Galaxy S3), the figure is ridiculous and it can be seen that LG has only managed to sell a third of what it obtained with the milestone of the Asian giant: 30 million units in everyone. This range of advanced LG mobiles are based on Android and, as the number referring to each model increases, it is possible to have a more interesting data sheet: the LG Optimus L3 has a 3.2-inch screen "" is the most basic model ””, the LG Optimus L5 has a diagonal of four inches, while theLG Optimus L7 and L9 have 4.3 and 4.7-inch panels, respectively. Although, attention: only the latest mobile has a dual-core processor.
But all this has not been enough to face their rivals. And it is that, in addition to having a wide catalog of offers, Samsung has opted to update all its equipment to more recent versions of Google's mobile platform. In this way, customers feel that they have a smartphone in their hands that will not be forgotten. For the first months of next year, Samsung plans to update its two current flagships to Android 4.2, where Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the second representative.
Meanwhile, from LG they have opted to launch terminals on the market, putting aside the different equipment that was already for sale in the market. Of course, apparently, your LG Optimus 2X model could soon receive the update to Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich in its European version. Although at the moment there is no definitive date for its launch.
On the other hand, neither it has heard about possible updates of the entire range of the story protagonist: the current models of the portfolio of LG has a maximum with version 4.0 of the Google platform. Meanwhile, other manufacturers are already commenting on possible updates to two versions ahead of this one; currently they already have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
It should also be remembered that LG was one of the first companies that bet on equipment ( smartphones and tablets) capable of photographing "" and recording "" images in three dimensions (3D), although these teams did not catch on too much in the markets. Moreover, currently, the smartphones Sony have managed to outstrip supply LG, and Spain are ahead as far as sales are concerned. Likewise, for next year LG's intentions to release new equipment are not yet known, while new terminals are already expected from other companies. What's more, there is speculation that Sony may present powerful and cheap terminals.
