As with the Vodafone terminals, customers who have a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Movistar can now update to the latest version of Google's operating system: the one known under the name Android 4.0. In addition, Samsung itself has also confirmed that free terminals also have available - through Samsung Kies - the relevant update.
Until now, only the units sold by the British operator Vodafone could enjoy the improvements offered by Android 4.0. However, Samsung and Movistar have already published the relevant update for both free terminals and those acquired through a subsidy with the blue operator. In order to update, the user only has to connect his Samsung Galaxy S2 to the computer using the USB port and opening the proprietary Samsung Kies program. This will be in charge of - once the smartphone is recognized - notify if there is an update pending to be installed.
At the moment, according to the brand itself, you can only use this way to install the new Android 4.0 on the Samsung Galaxy S2. Later it will also be possible through what is known as " OTA update " or Over-The-Air ; that is, without the need for a computer; without cables and directly from the terminal itself. The same will happen with the terminals that have been acquired in the free market.
On the other hand, the main improvements presented by the new version of the Google platform are, for example, the possibility of having all the information synchronized with the Google Chrome desktop browser, and the possibility of opening up to a total of 16 tabs at once. Another feature that photography-loving clients will also receive with enthusiasm will be the possibility of adding effects to the captures in the purest Instagram style, as well as being able to take panoramic photographs.
Meanwhile, as far as services are concerned, the email account manager application (Gmail) is also being renewed and now it will be possible to have it synchronized - without the need for an Internet connection - for up to 30 days. Finally, Android 4.0 in the Samsung Galaxy S2 will also allow you to keep an exhaustive control of both the data consumed as well as knowing how much autonomy is left in the battery and knowing which applications are the ones that consume the most resources.
Finally, Samsung Galaxy S2 is updated while next month it will finally be chosen for the new flagship of the company to make an appearance at an event scheduled in the city of London, specifically on May 3. There the known as Samsung Galaxy S3 will be presented: a powerful terminal with between 4.5 and 4.6 inches of screen; with a quad-core processor product of the company's work on the Exynos 5 processor; or all kinds of connections, among which the most outstanding are NFC ( Near Field Communication ), high-speed WiFi and, possibly, it will be compatible with 4G networks.
