Tens, hundreds and even thousands of rumors have emerged about the Samsung Galaxy S10 since the presentation of the S9 back in February 2018. Today Samsung's high-end range is finally made official, and it does so with the design and features seen in many leaks over the past year. New specifications enter the equation that, along with those we have known since the beginning of 2019, will make this S10 one of the hardest bones to crack. We talk about aspects such as the Dynamic AMOLED technology of its screen, the new ultra-wide angle lens or the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the screen. Its price will be 910 euros and will arrive on March 8.

Design with Galaxy S9 airs and a clear difference: the front camera
Samsung mobiles have historically been sober in design, and this S10 was not going to be less. A design that clearly reminds us of the S9 both in the back and in the front.
The differences this time are found in the position of its rear cameras, which now start from a horizontal arrangement without a fingerprint sensor, and the front camera, which happens to be located inside the touch panel of the screen in the form of a notch occupying a small part of it.
Also the screen utilization ratio improves compared to the previous generation. Although Samsung has not provided data about it, we can see a much larger screen in a similar a priori size (the S10 is 2 millimeters taller and wider and 0.7 millimeters thicker). Specifically, 6.1 inches compared to 5.8 inches for the S9.
Worth noting is also its lower weight (157 grams compared to 163) despite having a larger battery of 3,400 mAh. For the rest, the Galaxy S1o has the same lines as the S9: USB type connector, headphone jack and speaker located on the back.
Screen that brings a new name and a secret, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
There is nothing better on the display market than Samsung's AMOLEDs. The S10 integrates the best of the best today, with a screen based on what the company has called Dynamic AMOLED and about which, at the level of characteristics, we know little at the moment.
What we do know, and first hand, are its technical specifications. 6.1-inch size, Quad HD + resolution and 19: 9 ratio is what this panel hides. Unfortunately things like brightness nits or color spectrum range have not been provided by Samsung.
But beyond the characteristics of the panel, the reason why this Samsung Galaxy S10 is surprising is because it has the world's first ultrasonic sensor on the screen. According to the manufacturer, it is capable of creating a three-dimensional map of our fingerprint to improve recognition speed and biometric security. The pity is that it has a limited area of recognition, just like traditional on-screen sensors. It will be necessary to see if it is really as useful as it wants to make us see.
Power in abundance with more RAM and more storage space
In this section, the fish was already sold since Samsung presented its new Exynos 9820 processor with eight cores and 8 nanometers. The surprise comes from the hand of memory.
8 GB of RAM and 128 and 512 GB is what we find in the Samsung Galaxy S10. As if this were not enough, it supports expansion through micro SD cards up to 512 GB.
But how does all this data translate into a real user experience? More multitasking applications, better performance in games and greater energy efficiency are the three improvements over the S10.
The triple camera finally comes to the Galaxy S series
The presentation of phones like the Samsung Galaxy A7 or the Galaxy A9 with up to three and four cameras on the back has been the prelude to what was to come. The Galaxy S10 is the first mobile in the Galaxy S series that has three cameras on the rear.
Regarding their technical characteristics, we find three sensors with RGB, telephoto and ultra-wide angle lenses of 12, 12 and 16 megapixels each. While the first one has the same variable aperture system as the S9, the others have a fixed focal aperture.
Specifically f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 in the first and f / 2.4 and f / 2.2 in the second and third. Of the first two, it should be noted that they have optical stabilization to improve the results in night scenes and with a lot of movement. The photographic results, in the absence of testing the terminal, are expected to be similar to those of the S9, at least as far as the main sensor is concerned. The rest of the cameras will provide us with greater versatility, although not for this quality.
And what about the front camera? A single 10 megapixel sensor with f / 1.9 focal aperture that, together with Dual Pixel technology, presumably offers us good results at night. The novelty in this case is found in video recording, compatible with up to 4K without the need for rescaling by any software.
Better battery and connections in the middle of the high range
Here the improvements are rather not very noticeable if we compare them with the rest. Perhaps the most differentiating aspect with respect to the Galaxy S9 of 2018 is the battery, which goes from 3,000 to 3,400 mAh in a more moderate thickness, and the integration of a reverse wireless charging system. Thanks to this, we can charge any device compatible with the Qi standard.
The rest of the aspects, a priori, are identical to those of the S9. Bluetooth 5th, dual band WiFi, NFC, expansion through micro SD cards, Dual SIM technology and a version with 5G, although the latter is a totally different terminal.
Price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy S10 in Spain
Unfortunately, Samsung has only provided the price of the version with 128 GB, which will be 909 euros. We can buy it in Spain from April 8.
