The wait is over. The high-end of the Korean Samsung catches up to date and presents in its ranks the latest version of Google's system for mobiles, Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This was confirmed yesterday by the Asian manufacturer, announcing that it is now possible to download the 2.3.3 edition of the platform with a view to installing it on devices that had been delayed from time to time in the time to update the system.
In this way, users who have free editions of the Samsung Galaxy S (first generation) or the Samsung Galaxy Tab (the version with a seven-inch screen), can now plug their terminals into the Samsung Kies desktop application and take good note of the latest Android version. But they are not the only ones, since other mobiles in the range (such as the Samsung Galaxy Gio, Samsung Galaxy Ace or Samsung Galaxy Mini), also have Gingerbread available for download and installation.
As is customary, the process will be gradual. In other words, at first it is expected that in Europe it will be the United Kingdom and some countries in the north of the continent that will initiate the update, to gradually become possible in other countries of the European spectrum little by little.
The download, as we have pointed out, is subject to the Samsung Kies platform, a free program that is only compatible with Windows, so if you are a Mac or Linux user you will have to get a PC to carry out the process.
Recall that the update process of the Samsung Galaxy S already began a few weeks ago, but that due to a problem in the Gingerbread version that had hung on Samsung's servers, they were forced to remove it to debug the file. In any case, if you were one of those who wanted gingerbread , you will soon have Android 2.3 on your device.
