Vodafone has officially released Android 2.2 Froyo for Samsung Galaxy S her. Last week we learned that the first shots were already beginning to be staggered, but now the Korean Samsung confirms that the version of the platform prepared for the firmware of Vodafone is available for all users who want to put on your Samsung Galaxy S.
Since yesterday, November 30, customers of the red operator who got a Samsung Galaxy S can update the phone to the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. It thus becomes the first company confirmed to allow its users to get Froyo on the Galaxy S, since at the moment neither Movistar nor Orange have confirmed the dates on which the most advanced version of Android will be ready so far.
The update, as we have told you on other occasions, must be done through the Samsung Kies software, which you can get from this link. You must remember that Samsung Kies is not a program compatible with all operating systems, and that it can only be used through computers with Windows platform.
In case you are a MAC or Linux user, you will have to arrange for someone to allow you to update the Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S to Android 2.2 from their computer. However, if you use Parallels on a MAC computer, you can always use the virtual version of Windows for this operation.
It has also been known that the free Samsung Galaxy S are also executing the update process to the Froyo platform, although for the moment, and as with Vodafone users until a few days ago, the task is developing very little by little..
If you want to know if your terminal is ready to update, just connect it to Samsung Kies and check the news available. There are other means to "force" the update, although in that case you must consider the risks of manipulating the platform.
