With the presentation of the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, many users are eagerly awaiting the update of this brand new version for their terminals. And the owners of the Samsung Galaxy S were not going to be less. Saving its great successor Samsung Galaxy S2, the first Galaxy S can still be considered the flagship of the South Korean firm. The fact is that now, the owners of this touch device are in luck. And it is that according to rumors from Germany, the Samsung Galaxy S would be about to receive the new version of Android. The one known as Gingerbread.
The information arrives through official channels. According to some media, the data has been leaked directly to a German website from Samsung's own subsidiary in this European country. The fact is that everything points to the release of Android Gingerbread 2.3 could take place during the month of March. Spring would be the most appropriate moment, although in that case it should be borne in mind that the updates are implemented progressively, depending on the arrival in each country and specific availability across each operator.
The truth is that the arrival of Gingerbread could not be delayed much longer, at least for the Samsung Galaxy S. In this sense, we can advance that the update will not be carried out via OTA (Over The Air) which is the most practical option. As has become common in these cases, version changes must be made through the Samsung Kies application, compatible with Windows and Mac, but not with Linux, for example, this being one of the only problems we can raise in this regard. We will be attentive to any news about the arrival date of this update.
