The Korean Samsung was applauded at the beginning of this 2011 when announcing that during the past year it managed to reach the brand that was set for the sales of its past high-end terminal: the Samsung Galaxy S and its ten million units.
Such was the confidence that the Asian manufacturer acquired with this registration (complemented by the interesting values granted by being a world leader in the consumer electronics sector and second manufacturer in the mobile market), that for this year, Samsung will again be head to the pool and figure its sales forecasts for the Samsung Galaxy S II, the renewal of its high-end range, in another ten million terminals sold before the start of next 2012.
It was JK Shin, head of the company's mobile division, who anticipated the company's objectives for this terminal. It did so during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II in South Korea, where it was put on sale last week as part of the launch campaign for this device (released simultaneously in 120 countries around the world).
Reaching the goal of ten million terminals is going to be a tough job for the guys at Samsung this year. And it is that although in 2010 there were excellent terminals on the market, the Samsung Galaxy S knew how to draw towards itself a large volume of praise that recognized benefits that in other terminals were conspicuous by their absence: the large format screen (four inches) with panel Super AMOLED, a really thin thickness (the lightest in the Android segment) or the powerful multimedia section that it made available to the user.
This year, the fight to be the smartphone of the year in general, and the best Android mobile in particular, is somewhat more disputed. And it is that the presence of very interesting terminals, such as the LG Optimus 2X, the HTC Sensation, the Motorola Atrix, or 3D mobiles (HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D), will make the Samsung brand even more remarkable if they finally reach the objectives marked.
