"The perfect gift for people who have never used a smartphone." This is how the Korean company Samsung defines one of its latest terminals. It is the Samsung Galaxy Mini, a device that, living up to its name, has very compact dimensions, developed based on a screen of just under 3.2 inches. This terminal has already been made official, and the company draws it as part of its advancement at the Mobile World Congress 2011, which will take place in just two weeks in Barcelona.
The Samsung Galaxy Mini is a mobile that works with Google's operating system, Android. And not only that, it also incorporates the penultimate version of the platform, Android 2.2 FroYo, with which we can surf the Internet or write text messages without using the virtual keyboard, but dictating with our voice everything we want (with a precision, in addition, that comes to surprise). At the moment it is unknown when it will go on sale and the price that this Samsung Galaxy Mini will have.
What are known are some of its specifications. Broadly speaking, it is a Samsung Galaxy S of small dimensions and with an equally reduced technical profile. In connections, in fact, it is practically the same: 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth (2.1, in this case) and microUSB. The camera is also lighter, reaching the three - megapixel, which also records video in QVGA quality at a rate of fifteen frames per second.
The memory that the Samsung Galaxy Mini loads as standard is a scarce 160 MegaBytes, so it will be necessary to install MicroSD memory cards of up to 32 GB to store information. Samsung assures that the sale set will come with a two GB board. The processor of the Samsung Galaxy Mini, on the other hand, has a power of 600 MHz, and those who do not hesitate to use the virtual keyboard on the touch screen, it should be said that it includes the Swype system, with which the task is greatly facilitated.
