The launch of Samsung's new mid-range phones is imminent. The M series will be the new range of smartphones that the company will present throughout 2019. Leading the way, the Samsung Galaxy M10 and the Samsung Galaxy M20, two phones with an interesting a priori design and a series of very similar characteristics to that of its current A series (Galaxy A3, A5, A6…). A few weeks after it was introduced, we already know practically all its characteristics. Will they be the salvation of the brand in the mid-range this 2019? We see it below.
Samsung Galaxy M10, the cheapest of the M series
The smallest of the range and possibly the most interesting of the two. Although the size of its screen and its design are still in doubt, the various rumors about this model claim that it will be a smartphone with a notch in the screen and a 19.5: 9 panel, probably 6 inches with Full HD + resolution and technology LCD.
Regarding its technical specifications, it is known that the corresponding model with the SM-M105F termination will integrate an Exynos 7870 processor accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD cards. If we look at previous phones of the brand, it has a sheet traced to that of smartphones such as the Galaxy J7 2017 or the Galaxy J6 2018.
In the section on wireless connections, it is expected that it will be identical to the ones we have just mentioned (Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, minijack for headphones…). The battery will consist of a 3,000 mAh capacity, and benchmarks leaked over the last week reveal that it will come with Android Oreo 8.1. No Android 9 Pie.
And the price? The leaks affirm that it will start from 150 euros to change, reaching an increase in Spain to 170 quite possibly.
Samsung Galaxy M20, the middle of the range
The more generous M-series phone (SM-M205F) in terms of specs is expected to feature a similar design to its little brother, with a teardrop notch and even more exploited margins. Nothing is known about its screen, but it is foreseeable that it will exceed 6 inches in size with the same technology and resolution as the previous one.
Regarding its specifications, here we do find a notable change. Eight-core Exynos 7885 processor, 3 GB of RAM and a still unknown capacity (64 GB is rumored). Compared to current models, it could be said that it is a Samsung Galaxy A7, A8 or A8 +.
From the connectivity section we do not expect big changes compared to the previous one beyond Bluetooth 5.0. This is not the case with cameras, because according to leaks, it is known that it will come with a dual rear camera, in addition to a fingerprint sensor. The battery according to a recent leak will be nothing more and nothing less than 5,000 mAh, the largest in a Samsung mobile. Along with this, USB type C port and fast charging based on the Quick Charge protocol.
Finally, if we refer to its price, it is known that it will be around 220 euros at the exchange rate, although it is expected that it will increase after its arrival in Spain.
Samsung Galaxy M30, the unknown of the M series
Little is known about this latest model. Months ago we saw how Samsung registered three new models, which correspond to the ones we have just mentioned and one that has not yet been filtered. The latter is the SM-M305, a phone that by numbering is expected to belong to Samsung's M series.
The characteristics are a mystery today. Our bet is that it will come with characteristics similar to those of the Samsung Galaxy A9, although with a smaller number of cameras and possibly RAM and internal storage. Be that as it may, its presentation is not expected until mid-2019, unlike the M10 and M20.
