Totally revamped notched design
The drop-shaped notch finally arrives in Samsung's low and mid-range. The Samsung Galaxy M10 is the first to release it, and thanks to this, the margins achieved in the terminal are quite low compared to terminals of the brand that belong to the same brand.
Specifically, we find a phone with only 16 centimeters high on a 6.2-inch screen. The latter is based on an IPS LCD panel with HD + resolution and the typical 19.5: 9 aspect ratio.
For the rest, the design of the M10 has similar lines to those we could see in the OnePlus 6T. Body made of glass, fingerprint sensor located at the back and double camera located on the left side of the device. Notably, it comes in two “gradient” colors: Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black.
Specifications already seen in other Samsung mobiles
In the internal hardware section we do not find big surprises. In summary, the chosen processor is the same as that of mobiles such as the Galaxy J7 2017 or the Galaxy A6 this year.
Exynos 7870 processor together with the Mali T830 GPU and 2 and 3 GB of RAM are the characteristics that we find in the Samsung Galaxy M10. In addition, it has internal storage that ranges from 16 to 32 GB. It is unknown if it has expansion via micro SD cards.
For the rest, we find a 3,400 mAh battery without fast charging and with a USB type C port. Bluetooth 4.1, GPS GLONASS and finally, Android Oreo 8.1 under the latest version of Samsung's customization layer. In this last aspect, we expected at least a version of Android based on Android 9 Pie.
The best of the Samsung Galaxy M10: the wide-angle camera
The integration of sensors with wide angle lenses seems to be catching on. The Galaxy M10 camera is made up of two independent rear sensors.
Specifically, it has two 13 and 5 megapixel cameras with focal apertures f / 1.9 and f / 2.2, both with CMOS (a system that helps reduce camera consumption) and RGB and wide-angle lenses. The degree of openness of the latter has not been disclosed, although it is expected to be greater than 100º.
Regarding the front camera, it has a single 5 megapixel sensor with f / 2.2 aperture. Nothing new in this regard compared to previous models.
Price and availability in Spain
We come to the section that interests us the most: the price and availability. At the moment the terminal has not been confirmed in Spain and the rest of Latin American countries. Everything indicates that it will arrive, although at the moment we do not know when (possibly late February or early March).
The price, unlike its availability, is known to start from 98 euros in its 2 and 16 GB version to 110 euros in the version with 3 and 32 GB. Upon arrival in other countries, it is expected that it will increase at least 30 euros on average.
