Although Samsung is immersed in promoting two of the most powerful smartphones on the market, such as its Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, that does not mean that they neglect the launches of other products with more affordable prices.
This is how the firm has announced the Samsung Galaxy J1 2016, a cheaper terminal that follows the line of those that already launched a year ago. If you are looking for a mobile device for the basics, making calls, surfing the Internet and giving a fairly limited use of the camera, this phone is definitely for you.
After announcing the Galaxy J1 along with the Samsung J1 Mini, Samsung has published the specifications of each terminal. As for the screen, we will enjoy 4.5 inches WVGA Super AMOLED that will support a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. A slightly adjusted resolution but in line with the rest of the technical characteristics of this terminal.
Its heart will be a quad-core processor that will run at 1.3GHz, accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Of course, we can expand this memory up to 128GB taking advantage of its card for a microSD.
The rear camera is 5 megapixels with autofocus and an LED flash. The front, meanwhile, is 2 - megapixel. In addition, it comes with dual SIM support that will support 4G or 3G depending on which market it is sold in.
The battery is 2050mAh, using it only with 3G and for conversation, it could last just over eight hours. Surfing the Internet, its duration would reach 7 hours, an hour more in case we are using the WiFi connection.
If we talk about colors, we can choose between black, gold and white. What Samsung has not yet published is the price of the terminals.
By way of curiosity, these phones have appeared on Samsung's websites in the Philippines and Russia. They do not specify when they will be available for purchase and, most importantly, the price of these equipment has not been advanced either.
In the month of January it was rumored that this terminal could reach a price of 120 euros, although there is still no official confirmation from Samsung on the amount of this mobile phone. Thus, it will enter the competition directly with other brands such as Xiaomi or Meizu, which have managed to gain a foothold in the market for the cheapest terminals.
