Samsung just made it official. The Samsung Galaxy Fold is being unveiled right now at the Galaxy Unpacked event. It does so with a design that to this day has been kept secret from the world. The phone is capable of folding to become a whole tablet, and it does so through two screens: one on the back and one on the front. Regarding its technical characteristics, the Galaxy Fold has the latest from the South Korean company, even surpassing the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

Screen that folds down to become a tablet

The screen, or rather, screens, are made up of two totally independent panels of 4.6 and 7.3 inches. The first is located on the outside of the device to act as a mobile phone. As for the second panel, this forms what will be the folding part of the terminal, allowing the folding on itself to perform the functions of a tablet. We know little about its technical characteristics, the only thing we do know are its resolutions: 1536 x 2152 for the tablet format panel and 840 x 1960 for the mobile format panel.

The most interesting thing about these, beyond the woah effect of its design, is that we can use the applications on the screen in smartphone format in tablet format. This functionality has been called App Continuity, and according to Samsung, it is capable of extending what we are running on the mobile.

As if this were not enough, the company has adapted the entire operating system to take advantage of the tablet format screen. Split screen applications and the ability to run up to three applications at the same time in different windows as if it were a computer.

Technical characteristics of range - super - high

Regarding the technical characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the manufacturer has not given many details about it.

The processor, although the model has not been specified, we know that it will be manufactured in 7 nanometers. This makes us think that it will be the same processor used in the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Exynos 9820.

For the rest, it will come with nothing more and nothing less than 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage based on the new UFS 3.0 standard, the fastest in the mobile industry to date. Also, it is known that it will have a separate battery in two modules of 4,380 mAh in total. We will have to see how it behaves in a day of real use. We will have two versions, one with 4G LTE and the other with 5G.

Six cameras that make up its photographic section

The photographic section is not short either. Up to six cameras are found in the Galaxy Fold presented by the company: three cameras in the back, two in the front and another to accompany the mobile format screen.

Regarding the technical specifications of the same, Samsung has confirmed that the three main cameras will be composed of the same cameras as the Samsung Galaxy S10. Three 12, 12 and 16 megapixel sensors with Dual Pixel technology, RGB, telephoto and ultra wide angle lenses and apertures f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 for the first, f / 2.4 for the second and f / 2.2 for the third. Some of its main features are the ability to record video in 4K at 60 FPS, 2x optical zoom and optical stabilization (OIS).

Regarding the two front cameras of the tablet format, these are made up of two 10 and 8 megapixel sensors with focal apertures f / 2.2 and f / 1.9. While the first has a traditional RGB sensor, the second has a depth sensor for portrait mode. The same 10 megapixel camera is found in the front camera of the screen in mobile format.
