Samsung closed 2018 with the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy A8s, the first terminal from the Korean manufacturer that included the now famous hole in the screen for the front camera. A mobile that also has a large 6.4-inch screen, triple rear camera, Snapdragon 710 processor and 6 GB of RAM. Well, the Korean manufacturer now has a new version of this device ready. It's called the Samsung Galaxy A8s FE and it's a special edition that's been designed with the female audience in mind.
It may sound strange, but the truth is that the acronym FE does not refer to “Fan Edition” as it already happened with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The FE of the Samsung Galaxy A8s FE stands for “Female Edition”, that is, Female Edification. Therefore, Samsung makes it absolutely clear which demographic this phone is intended for.
Why "for women"?
What differences do we have with the Samsung Galaxy A8s that was presented at the end of last year? None at a technical level. The only difference is in the design, as this model has a nice two-tone gradient back color. The main color looks like a kind of pale pink, which is mixed with a light yellow or blue hue. The materials are the same, with metal on the frames and a glass back.
On a technical level, the terminal is exactly the same as the Samsung Galaxy A8s. It features a 6.4-inch Infinity-O Display with Full HD + resolution and a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio.
Inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. This is accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version. Both have 128 GB of internal storage.
But perhaps one of the most striking features of the Samsung Galaxy A8s FE is its triple rear camera. It is equipped with a 24-megapixel main sensor with f / 1.7 aperture. This is accompanied by a second sensor, in charge of depth, which offers a resolution of 5 megapixels and an aperture f / 2.2. The set is completed by a third 10-megapixel sensor responsible for taking wide-angle photographs.
The set is completed by a 3,400 milliamp battery. And all of this is controlled by the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. Or at least so it was in the model presented in December 2018.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy A8s is only available in China, at least for now. Samsung may soon take it to other markets. The special edition with a new color will surely follow the same path.
As reported by the manufacturer, the Samsung Galaxy A8s FE will go on sale on February 14 in China. We do not know if this model will reach the European market or not.
