After several days of rumors and leaks, Samsung has officially presented the Samsung Galaxy A8s. It is the first terminal of the Korean manufacturer that includes the now famous hole in the screen for the front camera. This time it has been placed on the far left of the screen (looking at the terminal from the front). A fairly large Infinity-O screen, no less than 6.4 inches.

But the Samsung Galaxy A8s is not just a display. Inside we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM. And as for the photographic section, it has a rear camera composed of three sensors. Specifically, it is a very similar set to the one we saw in the Samsung Galaxy A7. The terminal was presented today in China and will soon go on sale in the Asian country. However, we do not know if it will reach the European market. We are going to know its characteristics.

New design from the front and familiar from behind

There is no doubt that the most striking feature of the Samsung Galaxy A8s is Samsung's new Infinity-O Display. After many leaks, Samsung has finally shown how it intends to resolve the issue of the front camera in next year's models. It seems that the Korean manufacturer is not quite convinced by the sliding screen system.

Samsung's new mid-range mobile sports a small hole in the upper left in which the front camera has been placed. This means that the frames have been reduced a lot, although small black borders are still visible around the screen.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s is equipped with a 6.4-inch screen. This has Full HD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. We will have to wait to see how the camera "drop" affects the display of applications, since if they are not adapted it could cover part of the content.

For the rest, we have a design very similar to that of the last mid-range launched by the manufacturer. The A8s has metal frames and a 3D glass back and slightly curved on the sides. As for colors, on the manufacturer's website we can see the terminal in black, blue and a very striking emerald green.

Triple rear camera and lots of memory

Leaving aside the design of the front, another of the most striking features of the Samsung Galaxy A8s is its triple rear camera. It is equipped with a 24-megapixel main sensor with f / 1.7 aperture. This is accompanied by a second sensor, in charge of depth, which offers a resolution of 5 megapixels and an aperture f / 2.2. The set is completed by a third 10-megapixel sensor responsible for taking wide-angle photographs.

To "direct" all this hardware, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor has been chosen. This is accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version. Both have 128 GB of internal storage.

The set is completed by a 3,400 milliamp battery and the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A8s has been announced in China, where it will go on sale soon. Pricing has not been announced yet. The company has also not confirmed whether the terminal will reach other markets. So, for now, we will have to wait to see if it arrives in Spain.
