Samsung continues to complete its catalog of phones for the Galaxy A range. The latest to join it has been the Samsung Galaxy A40, a more modest device than the A70 and A50, perfect for users who do not want to complicate life too much. Unlike the other two members of the family, the A40 arrives with a slightly smaller panel, 5.9 inches, a double camera instead of a triple and a fingerprint reader on the back instead of on the screen itself.
The new terminal is powered by an eight-core processor along with 4 GB of RAM and is governed by Android 9. The device can be pre-purchased through Amazon at a price of 250 euros. Shipments will begin to be made from April 10.

Samsung has included in the Galaxy A40 a notch in the form of water and an Infinity-U panel typical of the range, which we have already seen in other models such as the A70 and A50. This time it has slightly reduced the screen to 5.9 inches, maintaining a FHD + resolution (1080 x 2340) and Super AMOLED technology. This is not a heavy or thick phone. Its exact measurements are 144.3 x 69.0 x 7.9 mm and its weight is 140 grams.
Inside the Galaxy A40 there is room for an eight-core Exynos 7904 processor running at a speed of 1.8 GHz. This SoC is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage (expandable through the use of microSD cards). On a photographic level, the A40 also behaves as a more restrained model than the A70 or A50. It includes a double 16 + 5 MP sensor, just like the A30. However, in the front camera we find a surprise. This is 25 megapixels, identical to the one on the A50.
As for the rest of the features, the Samsung Galaxy A40 equips a 3,100 mAh battery with fast charging and Android 9 operating system as standard. This version includes a large number of improvements, among which we can highlight an adaptive battery system, which learns from the use that is given to the phone to save energy. Finally, it should be noted that the A4o has a fingerprint reader, but in its case it is not integrated into the screen itself. It is available in the back, as is usual in a large part of mid-range or entry phones.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy A40 will be released in more detail on April 10, at an event where the company plans to unveil the rest of the family members. While that day arrives, it is possible to pre-purchase it through Amazon at a price of 250 euros. Shipments will begin to be made from April 10.
