It had been rumored for some time now and they are finally official: the Samsung Galaxy A30s and the Galaxy A50 are already among us. Far from being an update of the Galaxy A30 and A50 presented at the beginning of the year, the improvement comes from the design and cameras, cameras that improve both in number and quality. The rest of the specifications mostly coincide with those of the A30 and A50, although some aspects such as the resolution of the screen or the quality of the panel are left behind.
Samsung Galaxy A30s: triple camera, on-screen fingerprint sensor and somewhat fair resolution
The Samsung Galaxy A30s arrives as an evolution of what the Galaxy A30 was at the time of its launch. On this occasion, the company has decided to give the terminal a more sober finish in terms of the back with black and white colors that differ from the pastel tones of the Galaxy A30.
Another change that we can see in its body is the absence of the fingerprint sensor on its back, which now moves inside the screen. Screen that, by the way, loses half its resolution, as it has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with HD + resolution (1,560 x 720 pixels), something that makes no sense if we consider that the A30 has a Full HD + panel.
As for the photographic section of the Galaxy A30s, the improvements on this occasion are somewhat more notable thanks to the incorporation of a third sensor and the improvement of those present. In summary, we find three 25, 5 and 8 megapixel cameras with a wide angle lens and focal aperture f / 1.7 in the case of the main sensor. The front camera, meanwhile, has a 16-megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 focal aperture.
Otherwise, the Samsung Galaxy A30 comes with a feature sheet very similar to its predecessor. Eight-core Exynos processor (exact model unknown), 3 and 4 GB of RAM and 32, 64 and 128 GB of internal storage, 4,000 mAh battery with 15 W fast charge, USB Type-C, dual-band WiFi and NFC for mobile payments. It has, in addition to Samsung One UI 1.5, the version of the Samsung layer that we can find in the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.
Samsung Galaxy A50s: better cameras and more sober look
If we move to the Samsung Galaxy A50s, here the improvements are somewhat more restrained than those of the A30s.
We continue to have the same technical characteristics, such as the eight-core Exynos processor (the model has not been specified yet), the 4 and 6 GB of RAM, the 64 and 128 GB of internal storage or the 4,000 mAh battery with fast charge 15 W. The improvements in this case come from the cameras and the design.
Specifically, the Samsung Galaxy A50s has three independent cameras of 48, 5 and 8 megapixels with a wide-angle lens and f / 2.0 aperture. The front camera, yes, up the ante to 32 megapixels with the same focal aperture as the main sensor of the rear camera.
Regarding the design, the renewal in colors and lines of the A30s is transferred to the A50s, with more sober black and white colors and a play of lights that vary the color tone depending on the incidence of light. Returning to the front of the terminal, the A50s has the same screen as the A50: 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD + resolution (2,340 x 1,080). Like the A30s, it has Samsung One UI 1.5.
Price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s in Spain
As usual in the company, the data about the availability of the terminals, much less their price, have not yet been provided. In the event that they end up replacing the current Galaxy A30 and A50, it is most likely that the price will remain with respect to its predecessors, a price that could start at 269 and 299 euros respectively, although it is not ruled out that the value output is higher
