Away from the Mobile World Congress 2019, Samsung has presented new members for its A range. These phones are the Samsung Galaxy A50 and the Samsung Galaxy A30, the latter being the one that interests us the most. The Samsung Galaxy A30 is a terminal with a design that has nothing to send to its older brothers like the Samsung Galaxy S10 despite being destined for another range. Its widescreen display with reduced bezels and a drop-shaped notch make it attractive to the eye. Inside we also have enough power for day to day, in addition to moving games or heavy applications. Super AMOLED Infinity-U display

The Infinity-O screen seems to be reserved for Samsung's high-end terminals. But it does not mean that the rest of the terminals do not enjoy a good screen / frame ratio. In the Samsung Galaxy A30 we have a front that is almost all screen, the frames have been reduced in all directions. The only area where we can reproach a little more frame reduction is the lower one, but it is still more than achieved.

This reduction of frames leaves us with a 6.4-inch screen with Full HD + resolution or what has been 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Its panel is Super AMOLED, it will offer vivid and saturated colors as Samsung is accustomed to, in addition to having more than enough brightness to be able to use it in the sun without any problem. This screen has a notch or notch in the shape of a drop, this Samsung design has called it Infinity-U.

Although it costs us, we have to pay attention to the terminal in general and not only to its screen. Turning it we find a glossy glass finish, the double camera is located on the left side in a vertical position and just below the LED flash. The fingerprint reader is centered so that it is comfortable to reach, the brand logo is in dark letters. It is a terminal with a large screen, but with dimensions achieved, specifically, they are almost 16 cm high, 7 cm wide and 7 cm thick. It will be sold in three colors: blue, black and white, all of these colors in a glossy finish.

Processor, memory and camera

If we dissected the Samsung Galaxy A30 we would find its different components. The main person in charge of sending the information is the processor, in this case signed by Samsung. The Exynos it mounts has eight cores, four of them at 1.8GHz and the other four at 1.6GHz. It is accompanied by 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB for storage, this feature being expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card.

These figures are more than enough for any user, it is possible that some heavy application or latest generation game will make the processor suffer. But this we will only know when we have it in our hand and can test it in daily use. At the moment we can only assume that both the software, Android 9 Pie and the hardware will work without any problem. Its autonomy is marked by a 4,000 mAh battery, a figure that promises a day and a half without having to go through the charger.

When talking about the design we mention the double rear camera, this double camera has two sensors. The main sensor is 16 megapixels with a focal aperture 1.7, which is an advantage when taking pictures in poorly lit areas since the sensor is capable of capturing more light. The secondary sensor is 5 megapixels with a 2.2 focal length, it is focused on improving the blur effect by capturing the depth of the object we are focusing on. The notch houses the camera dedicated to selfies, a 16-megapixel sensor with a 2.0 focal aperture.

Price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy A30

It is a terminal intended for a premium mid-range, a category on the rise, mid-range characteristics with a design and materials typical of the high-range. Samsung has not indicated anything about its price or availability, we can only hope that it reaches the Spanish market to be able to test it.
