The Samsung E1252 is one of those mobiles that were traditionally focused on emerging economies, but that little by little are adapting to another market, say, wealthy. It is an economical terminal (with a price of around 40 euros without obligations to operators) registered in Dual SIM mobiles. This allows us to install two cards with two different lines on the same device, so that we can use either one without having to turn the phone off and on.
This Samsung E1252 offers a low-end performance profile, aimed at a type of public that wants a mobile only to make calls (although it does not disgust some other extra features). As announced by the manufacturer, the Samsung E1252 can be found on the market since the middle of this month of October, which is almost ending.
Design and display
The Samsung E1252 is a bar-type mobile, or candybar, with a very conventional look. For some, it could have a design more typical of mobiles from past seasons, although it is reasonable if we think that the usefulness of this device is precisely that of previous generations: making calls, sending SMS and, perhaps, using very basic lightweight applications.
The measurements of the Samsung E1252 are 112.7 x 46.7 x 13.9 millimeters, presenting a weight of 76.7 grams. In this sense, the Samsung E1252 is not characterized by being a too bulky terminal, which gives it a very attractive point for the user who does not carry a mobile other than by "obligation" and prefers that the little gadget interferes as little as possible.
As for the screen, forget about advanced touch panels and other modern inventions. We are facing a two-inch TFT (a considerable size given the dimensions of the terminal, by the way), with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a palette of 256,000 colors.
System and battery
Being a mobile phone with very simple features, the Samsung E1252 will not waver from a hypermodern operating system, a very fast processor or a very exaggerated internal memory. With this Samsung E1252, what you see is what you get. The most remarkable point is in its Dual SIM system, with which, if we are one of those who carry two lines on top, we will save ourselves the hassle of carrying two mobile phones.
These types of solutions are ideal for users who, due to their schedules, configure calls through the rates of two operators, so that it is more convenient to have two contracts to save a few euros in total bills. Not to mention certain customers who can use a mobile phone such as the Samsung E1252 to combine the personal line with the professional line in a single device.
For the rest, the Samsung E1252 is not a mobile that stretches itself in too many details. It includes a number of simple pre-installed Java games. In addition, it incorporates an FM radio tuner, as well as a web browser for WAP and HTML.
The battery, meanwhile, provides a range of about eleven hours of talk time (at this point the motives of this profile typically earn about advanced smartphones, as you can see) and 625 hours standby. This is achieved thanks to a 1,000 milliamp unit, which, in principle, should not require a great deal of time to recharge the battery.
Connectivity and multimedia
As you may have already imagined, the Samsung E1252 is not a mobile that shines for its connection system. For both SIM cards, the network system follows the GSM protocol in the 900 and 1,800 bands. Given this, it is clear that anyone seeking access to mobile broadband Internet will have it from complicated to impossible. Of course, the Samsung E1252 does not restrict data traffic, although it does limit it to GPRS connectivity (at about 48 Kbps).
As for the options multimedia, the fact that e l Samsung E1252 be a not detract very basic phone that incorporates a player solvent music and video. Of course, the limitation of formats is evident with respect to advanced terminals, although it does not lack compatibility with MIDI, MP3 and MP4 files. However, where the lightness of the Samsung E1252 features is most noticeable is in the camera. And because? Simply because it lacks it.
Samsung E1252, Opinions
To assess the Samsung E1252 you have to do it considering its context and target audience. Do not lose sight of the fact that the Samsung E1252 is very clear about the user who would use its functions, and taking that into account, there are some very noteworthy and applaudible points. The autonomy, for example, highly is remarkable. And it is that eleven hours of use in conversation is many hours, although it would be convenient to see how this duration behaves using the mobile also at full capacity listening to music.
In any case, the fact that it does not have a camera has been a small major flaw. A VGA quality sensor would have come in handy, even if it was to complete a somewhat rounder profile. And it is that this lack makes the multimedia player less important, which on the other hand, is sadly limited to the very scarce internal memory of the phone, since it does not include a slot to expand with MicroSD cards.
