The success of Android continues to be overwhelming, so it is not surprising that the second largest mobile phone company in the world has decided to change the operating system of its successful Corby family. The Korean firm has just launched a new model of this semi-youth range on the market. It is the Samsung Corby i5500, a terminal that already incorporates version 2.1 of the Android operating system and that will be available to European customers for quite affordable prices. It is expected that he can be among us from this month of June, although initiallyIt will only be sold in Italy.
The new Samsung Corby i5500 has a 2.8 inch screen and QVGA resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, although currently not possible to indicate whether we would be in front of a capacitive touch screen. The end result is that of a phone measuring 56 x 108 x 12.3 millimeters and weighing 102 grams. The camera is not too competent, since only reaches two megapixels. Even so, we are talking about a terminal with high performance in terms of connectivity: we refer to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth 2.1, in addition to the possibility offunction as GPS.
As we indicated at the beginning, one of its main advantages is that it will carry Android operating system in version 2.1. Includes FM radio and 100 MB of internal memory, expandable with microSD cards. In principle, the Samsung Corby i5500 comes standard with a 1GB card. The battery is 1,200 mAh. Although an exact date for its staging is not yet known, it is expected that the Spanish operators will begin to present their offers at the end of this month of June or the beginning of July, without being much more flattered. In Italy, it will sell for 199 euros shortly.
