Finally, as predicted, we will not see the new Samsung Galaxy S4 at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona. On February 24, the day before the start of the most important mobile fair of the year, the South Korean multinational will hold an event to present its news. However, the firm's flagship will not be among the teams it will show between February 25 and 28 at the Fira de Barcelona facilities. It will be in a later event, as in the case of the two teams that preceded the reference team for the company's catalog in 2013, when we get to know the Samsung Galaxy s4.
This has been confirmed by the boss of Samsung, JK Shin, who pointed out that they will not take the new top of the range with them to MWC 2013. Unfortunately, it was not launched to advance the dates they handle for the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Last year, it was on May 3 when the current flagship was brought to the attention of everyone. On this occasion, similar dates are handled, although at the moment there is nothing certain on the table, so it only remains to wait.
So far, the data that has been known about the Samsung Galaxy S4 point in the direction of a terminal that rightly claims the distinction of reference smartphone for this year. First of all, it would carry a five-inch screen with FullHD resolution. In addition, it would feature a thirteen megapixel camera and two GB of RAM.
The processor is one of the technical points where Samsung intends to anchor much of the team's appeal. It would be the so-called Exynos 5 Octa, a dual unit that combines a pair of quad-core chips. In total, eight cores that combine power and efficiency, since each of the units starts up depending on the type of processes required by the terminal, so that for simple operations the team focuses on one of the parts of the processor that greatly reduces battery consumption.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is called to be the terminal that expands the margins of success already defined by the Samsung Galaxy S3, which has managed to sell more than 40 million units during the period in which it was available in 2012. In total, the Galaxy S family of high-end terminals has placed more than 100 million devices since the first model went on sale in May 2010.
However, this year it would present an offer that would seek to certify its first place in the ranking of firms in terms of sales of mobile phones in general and smartphones in particular. Already in 2012 it presented record balances, a situation that the Korean multinational hopes to repeat in 2013, a year in which the sector promises to withstand the shock of tabletphones, those large-format equipment that began with the launch, precisely, of the Samsung Galaxy Note.
