The Samsung Wave line will be updated in the first quarter of 2012. It will be then when the South Korean firm will make available to its users the update to Samsung Bada 2.0, its native platform, which is present precisely in the Wave line mobiles.
This has been announced by the Spanish delegation of the Asian multinational, which however has not expanded the information detailing the order that the compatible devices will adopt when proceeding with the update.
Similarly, it has not been specified too much about the specific date to start the update process, limiting itself to giving guidance referring to the months between January and March 2012 to release the package of system improvements.
What is clear is that the first terminals to be updated will be those that are not subject to the limitations imposed by the firmware of the operators. That is, if you have a Samsung Wave in free format, you will have the package of improvements at your fingertips before another user who got his mobile with an operator subsidy.
The expectation for the update is high, especially knowing how long we have been waiting for the compatible terminals to catch up with this version of the platform. It should be remembered that not all Wave series phones will be able to download and install Samsung Bada 2.0. At the beginning of the month we learned that the Samsung Wave 525 and Samsung Wave 533 were off the roadmap of the Korean firm in terms of updating to Samsung Bada 2.0.
However, to compensate, Samsung has designed a package of specific improvements that operates on the API of Samsung Bada 1.1, compatible with these models, so that the operation and performance having the Samsung Wave 525 and Samsung Wave 533 is as similar possible to the terminals with Samsung Bada 2.0.
The Samsung Bada system works on the company's native layer, TouchWiz, also present in the Android versions that are hosted on this firm's mobiles. The applications downloadable are filled through the Samsung Apps platform, which is also available on terminals based system Google.
