At the beginning of June, Realme, a brand owned by the Oppo group, landed in Spain with the Realme 3 Pro, a model whose characteristics surpassed those of models such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and the recently presented Xiaomi Mi A3. Two months later the company launches two new terminals that complete the brand's current portfolio in terms of the mid-range. We are talking about the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro, two devices whose characteristics and price make them debate again with the Xiaomi models mentioned above.
Realme 5 Pro: four cameras and Snapdragon 712 per flag
The highest-end model comes as the main alternative to the Xiaomi Mi 9T, a model that is currently sold in official stores for 329 euros.
Being a subsidiary brand of Oppo and OnePlus, the appearance of the Realme 5 Pro inherits a good part of the characteristics of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. Comprised of a 6.3-inch IPS screen with Full HD + resolution, it has a design based in the now traditional notch in the shape of a drop of water, in addition to a rear made of glass with a fingerprint sensor and four cameras.
Inside we find a Snapdragon 712 processor along with 4, 6 and 8 GB of RAM and 64 and 128 GB of internal storage under the UFS 2.1 specification. But undoubtedly the strong point of the device comes from the hand of the photographic section, a section that is made up of four 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixel cameras with 119º wide angle and macro lenses and a focal aperture f / 1.7, f / 2.25, f / 2.4 and f / 2.4 in each of the sensors that make up the cameras.
It should be noted that the main sensor is based on the well-known Sony IMX 586, a model present in terminals such as the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. For its part, the front camera consists of a single 16 megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 focus aperture.
The rest of the features consist of a 4,045 mAh battery with 20 W fast charge, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi compatible with all bands. ColorOS in its version 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie is the system that we find under the hood of the Realme 5 Pro.
Realme 5: 5,000 mAh battery at the expense of processor and cameras
Along with the Realme 5 Pro we find the Realme 5, the economic variant of the mid-range that arrives with a more restrained feature sheet and a differential aspect with respect to its namesake: the battery. A battery that consists of no less than 5,000 mAh and that drinks from the same fast charging system as the 5 Pro.
Another differential feature of the Realme 5 is its size, 6.5 inches. The bad news is that the resolution is HD + (1,600 x 720 pixels), which should give us a number of pixels per inch well below what we consider recommended.
The rest of the characteristics also go through the scissors. In summary, we find a Snapdragon 665 processor along with 3 and 4 GB of RAM and 32 and 64 GB of internal storage. In the photographic section, the Realme 5 drinks from the same four cameras as its counterpart, except for the main sensor, which in this case uses a 12 megapixel camera and focal aperture f / 1.8.
As for the front camera, it consists of a 13 megapixel sensor and focal aperture f / 2.2. Of course, it has ColorOS 6 as the main operating system.
