Xiaomi is one of the companies that sells the most and best in the entry range, with very balanced terminals at low prices. The most recent is the Xiaomi Redmi 8, a mobile halfway between the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8A, which stands out for having a battery of nothing more and nothing less than 5,000 mAh with fast charging of 18W. This means that we will have autonomy for several days without problems, something that many users will appreciate.

For the rest, the Redmi 8 remains firm in its philosophy for the entry range. It has a double main camera, Snapdragon 439 processor with up to 4 GB of RAM and a fingerprint reader on the back. The device also boasts Gorilla Glass 5 protection, splash protection and dual SIM support. At the moment, it has been put on sale in India, where it is sold at a price of 100 euros at the exchange rate. In any case, in Spain it is possible to find other entry ranges that you can buy right now. This is the case of the Redmi 7A, 5A or 6A, all of them below 125 euros.

Built in polycarbonate, the Xiaomi Redmi 8 has a front with reduced frames in which a notch in the shape of a drop of water is not missing. Its rear part gathers all the elements (camera, fingerprint reader and the brand's seal) in the same set, within a strip located in the central part. The device also comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 system, which protects the panel from bumps and drops, as well as P2i splash protection. It is not too thin and light a terminal: 9.4 mm thick and 188 grams of weight. However, we can take it from one place to another without problems.

As for the size of the panel, it includes a 6.22-inch IPS with HD + resolution. Inside the Redmi 8A there is room for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. It is an eight-core SoC running at 1.95 GHz and 1.45 GHz, which is also present in the Xiaomi Redmi 8A. However, this time the minimum version starts at 3 GB of RAM, and there is also a model with 4 GB of RAM. For storage we will have 32 and 64 GB, both expandable options by using microSD cards of up to 512 GB.

Battery for long hours

Without a doubt, the main feature of this Xiaomi Redmi 8A is its 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge. Of course, the charger included in the box is 10W. It is a high amperage for a mobile with simple features, which will allow us to use it for several days without having to go through the plug.

As for the photographic section, the Redmi 8 has inherited the main sensor of the Redmi 8A of 12 megapixels, although now a second 2 megapixel sensor has been added to make depth measurements. In this way, we expect better portraits backed by automatic scene recognition and artificial intelligence. For selfies there is available an 8 megapixel sensor hidden under the notch in the shape of a "V".

For the rest, the Redmi 8 has WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM radio, IR Blaster and a 3.5 mm minijack for headphones and is governed by Android 9 under MIUI 10.

Price and availability

The Redmi 8 will go on sale on October 12, currently only in India. It will be available in three colors: black, red and blue in two different versions:

• Redmi 8 with 3 + 32 GB: 100 euros to change.
• Redmi 8 with 4 + 64 GB: 115 euros to change.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A is priced at 100 euros with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of space and 120 euros with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. This model has a 5.45-inch LCD screen and a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. Inside there is room for a Snapdragon 439 processor, the same one found in the Redmi 8. For the photos we have a main sensor of 13 megapixels and a front sensor of 5. There is also a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging of 10 W or Android 9 Pie system under MIUI 10.

Another entry phone that you can buy in Spain is the Xiaomi Redmi Go. It is sold with 1 GB of RAM and 8 or 16 GB of space for 70 or 80 euros, respectively. The terminal has Android Go, a special version of the system for devices with few resources. Basically it uses less RAM and the apps are more optimized to run smoothly. The Redmi Go also has a 5-inch screen with HD resolution, a quad-core processor, a 3,000 mAh battery and a rear and front sensor of 8 and 5 megapixels, respectively.

Its features are very on par with the previous models: 5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, a quad-core processor (Snapdragon 425), as well as a rear and front sensor of 13 and 5 megapixels, respectively. Its battery has a capacity of 3,000 mAh.
