After the presentation of the Huawei Mate 10 we already have outlined the main catalog of the three main players in the market. Samsung and Huawei were the first to announce their flagship devices. They did it last February, when we met the Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8 +, Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. Apple, another of the most valued manufacturers in the sector, announced just a few weeks ago its new iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X. With the emergence of all these models, let's see how the catalog of the top terminals of the year in Samsung finally looks like, Huawei and Apple.
Samsung flagship phones
Samsung currently has three great phones that stand out above the rest. We refer to the Galaxy S8, S8 + and the Note 8, whose presentation took place a few weeks ago.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +
These two devices have revolutionized high-end telephony. They are distinguished by their infinite screen and an improved design in which there is no home button presence. The panel, therefore, is the true protagonist. It is longer than normal, which is due to its 18.5: 9 ratio. Also, while the Galaxy S8 arrives with a SuperAMOLED screen with a size of 5.8 inches, the Galaxy S8 + mounts a larger one, 6.2 inches. The resolution is the same: QHD + (2960 x 1440 pixels).
Inside them there is room for an eight-core Exynos processor (4 x 1.7 GHz + 4 X 2.5 GHz), accompanied by a 4 GB RAM. For their part, they offer a 12-megapixel main camera with f / 1.7 aperture and optical image stabilizer. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels and an aperture of f / 1.7. The beautiful glass and metal design of these two phones make it shine above other rivals.
They are sleek and elegant and fit perfectly in the hand. They do not lack either the presence of a fingerprint reader (located on the back), Bixby assistant and IP68 certification. They also have Android 7 and a wide range of connectivity options: Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB type C, NFC, 4G and WiFi. Finally, we must also highlight its 3,000 and 3,500 mAh batteries, with fast and wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
If there is something that differentiates the Note 8 from the other two high-end Samsung ranges, it is the presence of a double camera. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the first phone from the South Korean firm to have a double sensor. A 12-megapixel wide-angle with f / 1.7 aperture and image stabilization and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f / 2.4 aperture and stabilizer. The camera for selfies remains the same: 8 megapixels with aperture of f / 1.7 and autofocus.
This model also boasts an Exynos 8895 eight-core processor (2.3GHz Quad + 1.7GHz Quad) and 6 GB of RAM. Offers 64GB of storage (expandable) and a smart S Pen for more comfortable typing. Like the other two flagship Samsung models, the Note 8 comes with a fingerprint reader, IP68 certification, Bixby assistant and Android 7. Its battery has a capacity of 3,300 mAh and it also boasts fast charging and wireless charging.
Huawei flagship phones
With the presentation of the Huawei Mate 10, the Asian closes its catalog for this year with three high-end phones, which are characterized by their design and current characteristics. Are these.
Huawei P10 and P10 Plus
They were announced during the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February. They really do not have to envy anything to other high-end models on the market. Although, yes, they do not have an infinite screen, not even the new Mate 10. And this is something that makes them stay in the background with respect to their rivals, Samsung and Apple. The design of the P10 and P10 Plus is metallic and resistant. The company has employed a more durable, shock and scratch resistant material. The panels are 5.1 and 5.5 inches in size, respectively.
Like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus equip a double camera. In your case, 12 and 20 megapixels with Leica seal. They do not lack a fingerprint reader, located on the front (next to the start button). Neither does Android 7 together with EMUI 5, which gives it a distinctive stamp. In terms of power, the two will perform without problems thanks to the help of the eight-core Kirin 960 processor and the 4 GB RAM. For its part, the batteries have a capacity of 3,200 mAh and 3,750 mAh (with fast charge). Which is appreciated for when we have to run and the mobile has very little autonomy.
Huawei Mate 10
It is the most current Huawei model. With it, the company closes this year the list of high-end mobiles until 2018. What can we highlight about it? Basically, its huge 5.9-inch screen with 2K resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels). Also its double camera with a 20-megapixel (f / 1.6) monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB (color) sensor with f / 1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is one of the brightest dual cameras today due to the incorporation of SUMMILUX sensors. It also has hybrid focus 4 in 1 AF.
The design of the Mate 10 is very elegant. It is constructed of a metallic chassis with curved glass. It is not at all thick despite its size, since it has a thickness of only 7.8 millimeters. Among other features of this terminal we can mention a fingerprint reader, as well as a Kirin 970 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery (with guaranteed safe fast charge). The device will go on sale in November with Android 8 Oreo, the latest version of Google's mobile platform.
Apple's flagship phones
Apple has also surprised with three models very well defined among themselves: the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, whose arrival is expected in early November.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
This year Apple has taken a twist and has decided that its new flagship phones are called iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Instead of iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. The two are very similar, but differ in screen size. IPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch Retina HD panel with 1,334 x 750 pixel resolution (326 dpi). For its part, the iPhone 8 Plus has a size of 5.5 inches. Of course, it uses the same technology and resolution. Apple did not want either of them to boast an infinite screen. This is something that he has left exclusively for the iPhone X.
As happened last year, the iPhone 8 has a single 12-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f / 1.8 and optical image stabilization. The iPhone 8 Plus, on the other hand, has a double 12 megapixel one, with optical image stabilization and flash. It should be noted that in this generation the pixels are larger, so images of greater sharpness and brightness will be achieved. Also included is the popular Digital Optical Zoom of up to 10x for photography and 6x for video. Regarding the rest of the features, both have a 64-bit A11 processor, iOS 11 system and battery with fast charging and wireless charging, one of the great novelties of this year.
iPhone X
It is perhaps one of the most anticipated models of the year along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Like this one, it has an infinite screen, which is the true protagonist of the front. Apple has also removed the home button, so this mobile lacks Touch ID. Failing that, it has facial recognition (Face ID). The panel of the new iPhone X has a size never before seen in an Apple phone. It is 5.8 inches and has OLED technology. The resolution used is Super Retina HD of 2,436 x 1,125 pixels.
Regarding the design, The iPhone X Edition has been dressed in glass, both on the back and on the front. Merging, yes, with aluminum frames that give it a very elegant touch. Another difference and novelty is located at the rear. The dual camera (with 12 megapixel resolution) is now positioned vertically instead of horizontally. Apple wanted to make this move so that we can get images with greater depth.
For the rest, like the iPhone 8, it also comes with a 64-bit A11 Bionic processor and a battery with fast charging and wireless charging. As we mentioned earlier, the change in design has caused us to have to say goodbye to this Touch ID model. Nothing happens, since security is guaranteed with Face ID technology, a way of unlocking very similar to facial recognition and that already incorporate current devices. The new iPhone X will go on sale like the Huawei Mate 10 next November.
