"WhatsApp uses battery in iPhone", "WhatsApp consumes battery in Xiaomi", "exaggerated consumption of WhatsApp in the background"… After the latest WhatsApp update, not a few users have reported that the application consumes a lot of battery in the background. Apparently, WhatsApp battery problems have to do with poor optimization of some application processes that run when we exit it. The consequences, according to several Android and iPhone users, are reaching mobile brands such as Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung and OnePlus. Does WhatsApp consume battery on your mobile? Discover the four possible solutions.
Clear WhatsApp data and cache
A clean slate can be used to eliminate all WhatsApp settings that are causing excessive battery consumption, and what better way than to eliminate the application storage and data stored in the cache.
In this case, the process is as simple as going to the Applications section in Settings. Then we will locate WhatsApp and access its configuration. Within this we will select Storage and click on the two options that the wizard offers us: Clear cache and Clear all data.
Finally, we will access WhatsApp again and enter the login information (phone number and verification code).
Limit WhatsApp processes in the background
The WhatsApp battery problem on Android is closely related to the background application processes. Therefore, the best way to prevent excessive spending is to limit WhatsApp activity in the background.
In layers such as MIUI from Xiaomi or EMUI from Huawei and Honor we can go to the Applications section. Within the WhatsApp settings, we will click on Battery saving or Battery and select the option Restrict background applications or Restrict background activity. If we have pinned the application to multitasking, it is recommended to unpin it through a long press and subsequent selection of the padlock.
Install an older version of WhatsApp
If none of the previous methods have worked, it is most likely that the problem of the version of WhatsApp that we have installed on the mobile has no solution. Therefore, the only feasible solution is precisely to install a previous version of WhatsApp through an external APK.
In APK Mirror we can see a history with all versions of WhatsApp. It is best to use a version several weeks old to avoid falling into the same battery problem. To install the application, however, we will have to activate the Install applications from unknown sources box in the Security section in Settings.
Or use WhatsApp Business, the version for professionals
WhatsApp Business is the professional version of the popular messaging application. From my own experience, the application does not have any type of problem related to the battery.
To install the application, just go to the Play Store or the App Store and write the name of the application, but not before uninstalling the version of WhatsApp that we have installed on our mobile phone. After registering our personal verification number and code, we will have to assign a fictitious business to our account. The rest of the functions compared to the base version of WhatsApp are practically identical.
