- Activate Xiaomi hidden camera options with this other trick
Do you have a Xiaomi mobile? Surely by now you have browsed through all your options… Or almost all. MIUI, Xiaomi's customization layer, has a series of hidden functions and options that can only be activated through the application of a set of codes on the phone's dialer. The good news is that there is a way to activate Xiaomi's hidden options without resorting to complex methods. How? Through a simple application. Or rather, two.
All the steps that we will see below are compatible with any Xiaomi mobile. Mi A1, A2, A3, A2 Lite, Redmi Note 4, Note 5, Note 6 Pro, Note 7, Note 8, Note 8 Pro, Note 8T, Mi 8, Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi 5, Redmi 6, Redmi 7…
Hidden Settings for MIUI, the application to enable Xiaomi hidden functions
Forget about root . Activating the hidden options of MIUI is as simple as resorting to the application that we just mentioned.
Hidden Settings for MIUI can be downloaded for free from the Play Store, and although it does not add exclusive functions, it does allow you to configure a series of parameters that are hidden from the user's eyes.
What can we configure with these options? The list of hidden options for Xiaomi mobiles with Android 9 Pie is as follows:
- Manage apps
- Manage notifications
- Notification log
- Device Information
- Use of private DNS
- Hardware testing
- Terminal test
- QMMI
- Block visual disturbances
- Backlight adaptive content
- Developer options
- Performance tool
- Battery optimization
- Application usage time
- Phone information
- Android Easter Egg
From making use of a private DNS to testing the different components of the phone (microphone, USB OTG, speakers, headphones…) to verify its correct operation or to see a complete record of the notifications we have received. We can also activate the Developer Settings, from which we can speed up the animations and even simulate GPS locations. Everything within the reach of a couple of finger taps.
Unfortunately, the application is not fully compatible with MIUI 11. Yes with MIUI 10 and Android 9. We have tried to use it on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro with MIUI 11 and the operation of some options has been as expected. Many others simply do not get to be executed.
Activate Xiaomi hidden camera options with this other trick
There is an additional method that allows us to activate the hidden functions of the Xiaomi camera without applications in between. Well yes, one: File manager. It is recommended to use an advanced file explorer, such as Cx File Explorer.
Once we have installed it, we will access the DCIM folder found in the root storage of the phone.
Inside the Camera folder we will create a file with the following name:
- lab_options_visible (including low bar)
Finally we will accept the operation and we will go to the MIUI Camera application. If we click on Settings, and more specifically on Additional Settings, we will see a string of options that we can activate to our liking.
We leave you below with some of the options that we can see in the Camera application:
- Internal "magic" tools
- Face detection
- Hide the face detection frame automatically
- Beautify photos in Portrait mode
- Activate dual camera
- Activate MFNR
- Activate SR
- Enable parallel processing
- Activate quick shot animation
