A few days we told that some units of the makes iPhone 4S, the latest phone from Apple, were suffering plummeting autonomy for reasons so far unknown. The incidence is evident when it is found that, even at rest, the battery life decreases at a rate of up to ten percent every hour.
That is why the first suspicions that Apple has raised to find the reason or reasons for this problem point to some of the systems that work in the background. One of them is used to keep the device's time constantly updated according to the time zone where it is located. In other words, it is a function that, in conjunction with other iPhone utilities, automatically updates the time depending on the region of the globe where the phone is located.
The point is that this function maintains a constant operation, and not periodic or configurable. Hence, it was requiring a battery consumption far above what had been valued (about eight hours in continuous use and about 200 hours in rest). Despite everything, this hypothesis has not ruled out other possible causes, which Apple engineers are currently analyzing with the help of some users.
Recall that when it began to be known that there were not a few iPhone 4S that were seeing their autonomy seriously reduced, the company contacted several clients to ask them to install an application that monitored the activity of the terminal, with the aim of discovering what are the functions that are hitting the battery of the latest model of the smartphone from Cupertino.
Until now, it had been thought that the classic geolocation systems, as well as the data connection, were the causes of the problem. It had even been said that it was Siri, the new assistant that exclusively carries the iPhone 4S, the system that could be liquidating the autonomy of the terminal. However, as we say, the cause of the problem has not yet been specified.
