A few weeks ago we released a first filtered capture that showed the appearance of the Windows Phone 8.1 notification center. It was a very blurry capture in which you could hardly appreciate any detail of this novelty of the new version of the Windows Phone operating system that currently includes all Nokia smartphones. And it is precisely that this operating system will receive an update in the coming months that will include -among other things- the novelty of the notification center.
This new notification center would work as follows. To begin with, the user will have the possibility to add four quick access icons to the menu that will allow access to the applications directly from the notification center. These applications can be substituted as desired by the user. Likewise, from now on it will also be possible to activate and deactivate the notifications of each of the phone applications from this menu (for example, if we do not want to receive the notifications of incoming emails, we will simply have to deactivate this option from the new Windows Phone 8.1 Notification Center). The truth is that this notification center is quite similar to the notification window that can be found inAndroid, although there are also functionalities never seen in this operating system such as notification through banners, which for now is a mystery since there is practically no information about it.
Any owner of a Nokia phone will know that the notification center does not turn out to be one of the strongest aspects of Windows Phone. The current notification center works in a very different way from what we can see on Android, since all notifications are shown to the user independently for each update.
But that will not be the only novelty in Windows Phone 8.1. It has also been known that Microsoft could be working on a Siri- like voice command and recognition system. This system would receive the name of Cortana, and would allow the user to perform actions on the phone simply by using their voice, without having to search through the menus and mobile applications. On the other hand, it has also been known that this update will introduce virtual buttons on the bottom of the phone aimed at replacing the capacitive buttons that can be found on Nokia phones such as the Nokia Lumia 1520..
Until now there were already rumors that the Windows Phone 8.1 update would include an improved notification center. With the two images that have been leaked these days, this news is completely confirmed, so now it would only be necessary to know an official date for the arrival of the update. Some sources suggest that this update will be available in April for all Windows Phone users.
